Iran's internet is struggling again

Iran's internet is struggling again. Traffic has dropped sharply on all four main operators, MCI, Irancell, TCI and Rightel, and average speed is down to about 3.3 Mbps. After a spike around 21 October, traffic has stayed below the level of the previous two weeks.

We have seen this pattern before: first it slows down, then services drop one by one, and one night only the domestic network is left.
So we are not waiting for that night. Right now we are setting up Delta Chat relays inside Iran, so that secure, end-to-end encrypted communication stays alive even if the country is cut off from the global internet. Delta Chat works over email infrastructure, needs no phone number and is not tied to one company. With relays running inside the country, people can keep talking to their families and communities over the domestic network when everything else goes dark.
If you are in Iran, install Delta Chat or ArcaneChat today and send a test message to the people who matter.
If you can help us run or support relays, reach out.
